Lochlander Scottish Salmon are raised with care in waters surrounding the rugged coastline of the Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Crafted using only the finest Scottish salmon, each fillet is hand-cured with sea salt and demerara sugar, before resting to slowly absorb the cure. Each fillet is then gently smoked over Scotch whisky cask chippings and left to mature, giving Lochlander Smoked Scottish Salmon its signature flavour.

Lochlander Smoked Scottish Salmon offers an intense yet well-balanced smoke profile, rounded with a hint of sweetness.

Lovely flavour

I always portion the salmon, wrap and freeze as soon as it arrives, My husband and I each had a taste before freezing and were very pleased with its flavour. My salmon arrived promptly midday on Wednesday but I was a little disappointed as it only had one ice pack within the natural wool wrap which had completely thawed. I was wary of ordering during such a hot summer and the fact that the parcel had to travel so far to the south east of England, but remembering that my last delivery had the two ice packs, I hoped all would be well. It does seem okay but I will not risk it again in the summer months.

New taste

We are enjoying the taste of the Lochander salmon very much, although we find the texture a little too soft. It is fresh and delicate salmon that goes well with avocado. The Hebridean salmon is till our favourite.
As usual, the delivery was prompt.
Our cats enjoy the wool protection as a lining for their basket!
